Every year, senior management at the Pierre-Boucher healthcare and social services centre provide the Foundation with a list of priority projects. The list is based on consultations with managers and department heads at the hospital and reflects various issues, including access to care, patient well-being, priority activities, and development projects. As a result, in addition to public investment, the Hôpital Pierre-Boucher Foundation – through the generosity of its partners and donors – strives to ensure that these projects see the light of day.
Since its creation in 1987, the Foundation has provided over $24 million in funding. Consequently, over the years, it has contributed directly to the development of various departments that are now considered centres of excellence at Hôpital Pierre-Boucher, including:
- Tertiary-care and regional cardiology centre
- Fully upgraded and largest maternity ward in the Montérégie region
- State-of-the-art medical biology centre and one of the most effective laboratories in Quebec
- Efficient operating theatres equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology
- Recently expanded and enhanced outpatient services
- Advanced filmless medical imagery technology
- One of the most advanced computerized hospital information systems in Quebec
